Carron Valley Dam
Just in the valleys between Clydebank and Denny, Carron is a favourite water for the guys who like a bit of wild brown trout fishing with some added excitement of rainbows and some big ones too.
A long loch taking some 30+ minutes to get from one end to the other, it can be fished anywhere, having many bays up the left hand side of the loch there are plenty of features to fish from, hug the shore lines or go point to point. Either way you will seldom have no action at all as the place is stuffed with natural wild browns.
Used as a national championships venue and in the World Championships in 2009 it is a very popular venue with clubs and anglers alike.
Carron also holds a protect species Powan, if your lucky enough to catch one as Craig did in the picture above.
Also used as the venue for the highly successful Carron Masters Competitions.
